Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri is an Indian actress who has gained notoriety for her roles in the films Hum Aapke Haiin Koun as well as Beta Saajan. The actress was initially famous for her role in Tezaab from the 1980s where she co-starred alongside veteran actor Anil Koopor. In the following film, she was a part of Aamir in Dil. Born into an Mumbai middle-class family, and began dancing in her early years. At the age of 16, she began acting and struggled for years because most of her early films failed. Her breakthrough came when she finally had success and she was one of the top actors in the Indian film industry. After marriage, she experienced a career break before reentering the film industry. In the past, she was in a crucial part in the movie Gulaab Gang which was about the struggles of women living in India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards. Of these she's won eight. Padma Shri was awarded to Dixit, India's fourth highest civil honor. She is also acknowledged for her work in the field of charity.
